Study Tour to IUCAA on National Science Day 2026

On the occasion of National Science Day 2026, the Department of Engineering Sciences at Dr. D. Y. Patil Technical Campus (DYPTC) organized an educational study tour to the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), located at Savitribai Phule Pune University, on 28 February 2026.

The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to scientific research and advanced technologies in the field of astronomy and astrophysics. Such initiatives help students move beyond classroom learning and experience the real-world applications of science and engineering.

Enhancing Scientific Curiosity and Practical Learning

During the visit, students explored various scientific exhibits, research facilities, and interactive demonstrations at IUCAA. The tour encouraged students to develop scientific curiosity, analytical thinking, and a deeper understanding of astronomical research.

Educational visits like this play an important role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical learning, allowing students to see how scientific concepts are applied in research institutions.

Leadership Support and Academic Guidance

The institution expressed heartfelt gratitude to Honorable Chairman Dr. Sushant Patil and CEO Adv. Anuja Patil for their constant encouragement, visionary leadership, and commitment to promoting academic excellence and experiential learning.

Special thanks were also extended to Principal Dr. S. D. Shirbahadurkar and Dean (Academics) Dr. Yogesh Gurav for their guidance and support, which helped make the study tour successful.
