On the occasion of National Science Day 2026, the Department of Engineering Sciences at Dr. D. Y. Patil Technical Campus (DYPTC), Varale–Talegaon, Pune, organized an educational study tour to the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) located at Savitribai Phule Pune University on 28 February 2026.
The visit was planned to provide students with practical exposure to scientific research, astronomy, and advanced technological applications. Such initiatives encourage students to explore science beyond textbooks and develop a deeper understanding of real-world scientific practices.
Enhancing Scientific Curiosity and Practical Knowledge
During the visit to IUCAA, students explored various exhibits and research facilities related to astronomy and astrophysics. The tour helped them understand how scientific research institutions work and how advanced technologies are used to study the universe.
